| I was Class of '01 and resigned my Yuck year, but I will never forget Joe. I am back in the Army now guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and tonight I saw Joe's pic on TV as an ABC memoriam to those fallen thus far. I rocked Beast with Joe, and I will never forget him. I watched the picture memorial and saw numerous buddies I have been with since coming back in, and seeing Joe hit me so hard tonight, I cannot even begin to describe the pain I felt. Joe had a way of making you smile, even when you weren't allowed to. I probably have permanent scars on my tongue for biting holes through it to avoid laughing because of Joe. Tonight hit me hard....I didn't finish with '01, but I want you all to know...this hits me as hard as it did you. I am an Asst. Relief Cmdr. at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and, from this day on, I will do my job to honor Joe, and what an amazing guy he was. I will never forget the impact he had on me. Till Duty is Done, right Joe? Tears for you, bud. TX and CA...best states in the Union...you don't have to remind me. Can't believe you're gone...never be the same without you. Sorry for any typos..cryin over my keyboard, bro. Hurtin bad. I got you, bud. |
