To Brian, My respect and admiration for what you were prepared to sacrifice and did sacrifice is boundless. My sadness for all of the wonderful things in life that you did not yet do is deep. But for all of the treasured things in life that you did do in the years you had, I am thankful. I can only imagine the sorrow of those you have touched deeply, none more than your family. May they and you know that we have but a few years; what you do with those you have is what matters. Thank you for all you gave. We sons of an earlier day salute you -- from the ranks of the Army, from the Corps, and from your Cadet Company, F-2. |
