Be Thou At Peace

"It seems to me that if you or I must choose between two courses of thought or action, we should remember our dying and try so to live that our death brings no pleasure to the world." - Steinbeck

Family and Friends,

I did not know Mark on a personal level though our paths frequently crossed over the years in shared classes, friends, schools, and assignments. I am however, very familiar with the character and reputation of Mark. When I received word of his passing, the above quote from East of Eden came into my mind as I thought of Mark. You did not need to have a close relationship with Mark to call him a friend. He was certainly loved by all those close to him, but even people who were not close held him in the highest regard as a man of character, integrity, and compassion. I am deeply saddened by his loss. Mark lived life as it should be lived and his passing has left his classmates with a painful sense of loss.

Matt
