West Point, 2002

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Alan and Judy Stout on November 17, 2005:

Having lived through World War II and the subsequent wars in which our nation was engaged, I've watched my father, uncles, cousins and friends go off to serve our great country. Most returned safely home, but our family also lost a dear uncle, brother and friend.

I never met Captain Gurbisz, but from the many eulogies and newspaper quotes, he must have been an outstanding young man.

We owe a great debt to these fallen heroes and should remember that we have our freedom because of their sacrifices. We can never repay that debt to the families left behind, but we can make sure that their loss is never forgotten.

God bless Captain Gurbisz and his family. He's flown home again on eagle's wings.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences to his wife, parents and brother.
