James Matthew Gurbisz

West Point, 2002

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Anthony Bongi on December 1, 2005:

I don't think I have ever met a better man than Jim.

When we realized we would be together at West Point after high school I knew West Point was in for a shock. From making up our own drink in high school called NAJJPT cooler (Nikki, Anthony, Justin, Jim, Pete, Tori) when I lived on the golf course at Fort Monmouth to going to Toronto for New Year's to getting into fights with the Dartmouth University football players when we played rugby at West Point; I would trade nothing for the adventures and escapades we shared together. As a friend, a teammate, and a soldier, Jim was hardworking, courageous, and determined. I doubt a day will ever go by that I will not think of Jim. I am honored to say I was friends with such a great person.

My deepest condolences to Tori, Kath, and Mr. and Mrs. Gurbisz. I am truly sorry.
