Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dave Arnold on May 28, 2010:

Dear Walker family, I read about Laura in a Memorial Day entry in the Centreville Centerview, and was moved to learn more about her on-line. Her biography is amazing! What in incredibly gifted and motivated young woman and officer. As a Navy veteran (26 years) and a father of three young daugthers, I only hope that my girls can be so impactful in their lives as Laura clearly was in her 24 short years. My thoughts and prayers are with you as Memorial Day approaches -- I hope that all Americans will pause to consider the sacrifices that have been made by our country's best and brightest like Laura. We should never take for granted what it means to serve in the Armed Forces, and that every man and woman who has joined since the early 70's has been a volunteer. Again, thank you for your daughter's/sister's service. She is truly a hero! CAPT Dave Arnold, USN (Ret)
