Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Erich Atkins on August 23, 2005:

I sat dumbfounded as I began reading the emails that I had recieved from the friendship chain that was established over our four year trials and tribulations at West Point. I couldn't believe the words I was reading. My heart sank and my mind raced about all the great memories that I shared with Laura. I spent a Camp Buckner squad time, multiple German classes, Officer Baisc Course, and a christmas break in Germany with her. We laughed, commiserated, rejoiced, and shared so many good times together that it leaves me ultimately saddened to think such a golden heart and a beautiful mind have been so suddenly stripped from all of our lives. I can not begin to express my deepest sympathy for the close knit family, COL and MRS Walker my prayers and thoughts are with you. May we always hold the memories close to heart. I know that I will carry with me her greatest legacy of care and concern for all people above her own needs. Laura, I will miss you and never forget you.

With Love and Deepest Sympathy,

Erich
