I didn't have the blessing of getting to know Laura well, but the times that I did have with her were blessed. When I first heard of what happened, the first thing that came to mind was her incredible smile. That smile, and everything that it represented about her, reached out and touched many people as she was their friend, and as she led with poise and maturity. My prayers and heart go out to the Walker family and all of those close friends and classmates. The Long Gray Line links us all together, and through that we from other classes that have also felt and dealt with the sting of losing friends reach out to you as you all deal with the loss of a great person and officer. May it spur the rest of us on as we continue the job. Well done Laura, be thou at peace. Brittany Meeks USMA 2002, MP |
