Mike and I both graduated from E.E. Smith High School in 2000, and since then he accomplished so much of which I know his family is very proud. He was a good friend, and even my senior prom date! I remember his excitement when he was accepted to West Point, and his modesty when he was once called during school by a Senator for a recommendation to West Point! I was simply shocked and devestated upon hearing the news of Mike's passing. The last time we spoke in late July 2006, he relayed eagerness to go back to Iraq.
