Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Andrew Prescott on November 16, 2006:

Mike was one of the finest Americans I have ever met. Though I never worked for or with him, there was never a doubt that he had unquestionable integrity and dedication to his duty and country. The one quality he possessed that will stay with me is that he was always so humble and desired to earn his own. I knew him for about three months before I found out that his father was the 82D ABN DIV ADC. Knowing that many would see him as the General's son, Mike always strived to exceed the standard-not out of shame, but rather to earn the respect of his leadership, peers and subordinates. I also remember that everytime that he mentioned his father, a smile ran across his face. Mike would be damned if he let his father down. There are so many people walk though life relying on others to get them by, but not Mike. He always led from the front and was never satisfied with second best. He is truly the epitome of what a Commissioned Officer of the 82D Airborne Division should be and he will always be remembered for his ultimate sacrifice. My deepest condolences and sympathy to his family, relatives and friends.

So Mike, thanks for all the great moments, stories, and laughter you have brought us. You will be dearly missed. Airborne, All The Way.
