Dear Mrs. Pena, I am a mother of five, a 2011 mom and have a son deployed in Afghanistan. I am so sorry for your loss, which I cannot even begin to imagine. A friend of mine who lost his only son a few years ago once told me that the only thing that kept him calm and sane through it all was the thought that if our Blessed Mother could endure what she did when her beloved and innocent son Jesus was crucified, then he could try to do the same. Perhaps that thought might also provide you some small comfort. May our Heavenly Father grant you the strength you need to endure this unimaginable loss and hold you up in the days ahead. Thank you for the gift you gave this country of such a fine man and American hero as expressed by those who knew him. God bless. |
