Nick A Dewhirst

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Kyle Hatzinger on July 23, 2008:

Nick I keep asking myself why it had to be you? I remember meeting you back in '03 when we were in the same Buckner squad and you would tear through any task given. We nicknamed you PT because you were indestructible. Since then I was lucky enough to run into you countless times at school, the BOLC's and Ranger-- even seeing you at the shopette a couple times at Campbell. I can't imagine not seeing you anymore and not catching up. We'll try to carry on as you would want us to. Look forward to running into you again some day. See you on the high ground brother. RLTW.

"He lived to bear his country's arms. He died to save its honor. He was a soldier...and he knew a soldier's duty. His sacrifice will help to keep aglow the flaming torch that lights our lives...that millions yet unborn may know the priceless joy of liberty. And we who pay him homage and revere his memory, in solemn pride rededicate ourselves to a complete fulfillment of the task for which he so gallantly has placed his own life upon the altar of man's freedom."
