Be Thou At Peace

Posted by CDR Matthew & Mrs. Charlene Carr on July 19, 2010:

Chris spent the fall semester of his 2/c year on exchange at Annapolis. He adopted us as his local sponsor family for his time here. Active with our OCF chapter, he also jumped right in to work with the kids in our Chapel Sunday School. It was a blessing to have him in our home. A godly young man with an outgoing friendly charm, he mixed right in with our other sponsor midshipmen (and cadets). We enjoyed many dinners around the table in conversation and time sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. He worked his way into our hearts and became a dear part of our family. "Mom Carr" and I really got attached to Chris. Even after he went back to the Point, he kept in touch and let us know how he was doing and where he was going after graduation. We were truly blessed to know and share some of life together while he was at USNA.

Kelsey and Goeke Family, we share in your loss and grieve with you. Please know that you are in our prayers. Chris was also prayed for at the Naval Academy Chapel during the July 18 service. Many in the congregation remembered him and his infectious smile. While we mourn, we also take comfort in knowing Chris' eternity is with the Lord, Jesus. We can look forward to that reunion when we join him there.

May God grant you grace, strength, and His perfect peace,
In Christ's Love,
Matt & Charlene Carr
