"BUD" DID VERY WELL AS A CADET AND WAS WELL LIKED BY HIS CLASSMATES. HE CAME TO WEST POINT FROM THE USMA PREP SCHOOL ALONG WITH TOM WEST. HE DISPLAYED APTITUDE FOR LEADERSHIP EARLY ON BECOMMING PLEBE FIRST CAPTAIN AT CHRISTMAS. HE SERVED AS A COMPANY COMMANDER AT CAMP BUCKNER. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR DEVELOPING PHYSICAL DISABILITIES HE NO DOUBT WOULD HAVE HAD A PROMISING CAREER IN THE MILITARY SERVICE. WELL DONE ED...BE THOU AT PEACE |
