John Heinmiller

West Point, 2004

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Cadet Lynch '04 on April 23, 2001:

To the Heinmiller family - my heartfelt sympathy in your loss. You are in my prayers.

I can attest that John, or Jack, as we called him, was a great guy to say the least. I knew Jack from "Beast" (Basic Training), as we were in the same squad together. Not only did we do everything together (as a squad does during Basic Training), but I stood next to Heinmiller in formation, and lived 2 rooms down the hall. I can remember all the "good times" that we had together - as good as they could be in such an environment...but one thing that struck me about Jack as I began to get to know him was his positive outlook on life, his cool-head in tense situations, and his ability to work well with others....not only that but he was a hard worker, and he was very close to his family, evident in the way he talked about his parents and his siblings.

Jack was a great guy, and it was a blessing to get to know him. He will be sorely missed.
