Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Vinh Nguyen on February 8, 2002:

Dear Heinmillers,
I just would like to say that I continue to think of all of you each and every day as we are all still trying to live through John's passing. I know he is looking down upon us each and every day and his love still touches me till this day. Just going through old memories about John makes me smile and laugh aloud when Im not paying attention in class when I sit and think of him. His permanent smile that I have in my mind says so much and it truly makes me happy. He was so proud to be a Heinmiller. I remember when he wore that Heinmiller plumbing jacket to school all the time....oh brother John...and I remember rooming with him at Long Lake and how much fun we had in that room talking every night. I also remember his skateboarding phase...in 5th grade we went on a field trip in the spring and it was aleast 80 degress out and he still wore his baggy pants that day....haha...I also remember when the class had walked really fast that day also and me, being the chubby kid that I was, was laggin behind and John stayed back to walk with me so I wasnt alone. He definately had a Heinmiller heart. He was so good to everyone...even Sammy Sant...if it werent for him...Sam would have never entered our lives...here was Sam...a kid moving into a new city his junior year of High School and John welcomed him to the group with open arms...every now and then we'd joke around with John about bringing Sam to us...but all in all we were glad he did. That was the way he went towards life...arms wide open...ready for anything the world had to offer...he wasnt afraid of what others said...he was John Heinmiller...the one and only...as long as he was himself...he didnt care...but he went beyond that...he impacted all of our lives with his brotherhood...he treated us as if we were all raised under the Heinball name...he was a leader...he was born to lead us all...and i was willing to follow him...we dreamt the same dreams...maybe sometimes we didnt see the same path...but I know we would have ended up in the same place...I miss you John...

I love you HEINBALLS,
Vinh (VPUMP)
