Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Maureen on March 11, 2004:
I just stumbled across this website and I am so glad I did. It's almost been 3 years and I still think about John all the time. It's amazing how much his tragedy has impacted my life. It sounds so corny, but I really cherish my friends, my family more now that he is gone. If anything, his death has taught me to love more, laugh more and hug the one's I love more. John was such an amazing person. When I think back to the last time I saw him during Christmas break of our freshman year of college, I remember laughing so hard my sides hurt while watching the senior football video. John his dad and other friends were watching the end when they showed guys' baby pictures. Why is was so funny, I don't know, but we kept rewinding it and playing it over and over. He sat and excitedly told us about West Point, and the random late night "pee checks." He was so full of life, and life is so unfair. Everytime I come home from California, I can't keep myself away from Pax Christi. My heart still feels a tingle of hurt everytime I drive by. John, what happened to you was so tragic and I couldn't say this enough times...you will always be missed.
