Be Thou At Peace

Posted by A on January 14, 2007:

Johnny,

Your cousin was only 7 when you went to heaven. To this day your memory lives on in her (as all of us) and it is so comforting and special. She requests your West Point #14 uniform number. She was given #14 by chance twice; she believes that you chose that number for her. Every time she sees or wears #14 she thinks of you and is inspired by your greatness. She is writing a story for school today entitled "My Hero". She writes that others thought of you as tough, honest, comforting and responsible.

She hardly knew you, but from the way she writes and talks about you, we know your legacy lives on and that you will continue to inspire your cousins, your family, your friends and all that knew you. I have never known quite what to say...today I thought of it...Thank you. Love A
