West Point, 1940

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Phyllis Sandra on December 4, 2000:

Neri was my Father's (Theodore Francis Cangelosi) only sibling. He was killed in an ambush on his last mission in World War II. Rather than let his men go without him and leave for a promised desk job off the line of fire, he chose to go on this last dangerous mission. I was 3 years old at the time. He left one son, Carl Jay. His body was returned to Baton Rouge, LA when I was six years old. I will always remember his sacrifice for our country.
