Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Jonathan Huseman on March 29, 2001:
Ryan was one of the best friends I have ever had. I first met him when we were in the 5th grade. We wrestled together. We went all over the state of Oklahoma wrestling together. Ryan was almost always fun. Ryan had the amazing capacity to make you laugh by doing things that if other people did them would drive you crazy. He was a gentle soul and a honorable man.
My best memory of Ryan is, when we were in about the 6th grade, the night I literally threw him out of my house. He had been pestering me for quite sometime and I told him to stop. When he didn't,I picked him up and pushed him out the door. Keeping with his character, he didn't get upset--he just laughed. His laughing made my mood improve. We ended up have a big laugh over the whole thing. He was the kind of person that could make you mad and happy at the same time.
Now I am a wrestling coach and teacher at Perkins-Tryon High School. During the season, not a week goes by that I don't think of something funny he did. I know that Ryan will always be 3/4 over.
Right now my wife is pregnant. I hope that someday my son will have a friend like Ryan. --Jonathan Huseman 3/29/01
