I am a member of the class of 1958. I was with Dick on Okinawa in the 2/503d Battle Group in 1961. He was my battery commander. A gentleman at all times. Many of the 2/503d members have maintained contact and still have reunions. Last year it was held in Washington at my house. Dick wanted to attend but a family function kept him away. I saw Dick a few months before he passed away. We talked of the people we knew and he again expressed his disappointment at not being able to attend the reunion. He promised to be at the next one. From all of the 2/503d-- Faarewell until we meet again. |
