Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Palmer Short on January 4, 2002:
Bill and I were best buddies from 1949 till about sometime in 1951 when our Dads were stationed at Ft.Monroe Virginia. We played football, baseball and tennis,he used to frusrate me because he had no backhand he would just change hands and laugh and what a laugh it was,it wasn't a sarcastic laugh just a nice laugh that I'll always remember.Maybe I shouldn't be telling this but we onced sneaked his Dads car out one night I think it was a Hudson and we went skinny dipping in the swimming pool. The last time I saw Bill was in 1953 my Dad was being reassigned after ccoming back from Korea and we stopped at Camp Roberts I located him at his part time job we talked awhile and promised to keep in touch now that I'm retired I was putting alot more effort into it I just wish I had started sooner.I will cherish our friendship forever and who knows maybe one day we will meet again. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who loved him. Sincerely Albert Palmer Short
