Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Tim Hsia on February 3, 2002:
Unbelievable, Anthony Miller was an unbelievable person.
One night, Anthony comes into my room and says "do you have any cake?" My roommate (Dan Areshenko) and I reply with a negative and then he asks if boodlers sells cake? My roommate says that boodlers is now closed, then he asks if we knew of a restaurant that delivered cake. We are somewhat stupefied by his persistency. By this time my roommate and I start cracking up... we thought he was going to buy a cake for someone, but apparently he had a dying hunger for a cake at that instant. He was adamant about eating a cake.
The most memorable thing about Anthony was that he was never angry. I'm not trying to reconstruct my memory...but he never once got angry. In physics...he'd always say something smart, not the yearling cynical smart but something that would make the class laugh and Major Jakes grin. He wouldn't get angry, I still don't quite understand it.
I'll miss Anthony flashing out of his room after the last minute has been called. I'll miss his smart quips and witticisms about his "shiny shoes." I'll miss running to combatives with Anthony. I'll miss going into his room and trash talking about how I'd beat him up in combatives...and I'll miss his trash talking. I'll miss his offhand jokes about the other room on the floor or his joke about going infantry if they could promise him "a monster all-out battle."
We'll all miss you Anthony.
