Anthony Miller

Be Thou At Peace
Posted by christina rendon on February 4, 2002:
Anthony Miller was my inspiration in many ways. He was one of my best friends. I remember the first time I met him, he came up to me after computer science class and introduced himself. He asked me if I thought he was cute. I told him to get away from me and that remained a joke between us for the remainder of the time we were friends. Anthony and I became very close friends throughout plebe year. He helped me through rough times. I remember calling him one night crying, telling him I was going to quit West Point. He hung up on me, and before I could count to 10 he had run across Central Area and up 4 floor flights of stairs and was knocking on my door. Every Thursday night dinner he would ask my table Comm if I could sit with him. I would always go to the football games and be amazed with his skill. When he scored at Army-Navy, I remember being so happy for him because that was his dream. He loved football, making people happy, God, his brother, and above all his mother. She was his life, his air. I had the privilege of meeting his family last year during plebe parent weekend. He and I would hang out from time to time when we realized too many days had gone by without being in each other's company. We would walk around at night and look at the stars while he would talk about how much he loved his mom. Anthony was a ladies man. He definitely had an eye for them. And he loved and respected each and every one of them. He was always up to crazy stuff. I remember at Buckner he was trying to organize a dance party and no one came but me. A few months ago I feel asleep early one Saturday night, he came over and sat on the edge of my bed and said he just wanted to say hi and see how I was doing. He was just that kind of a person. He cared so deeply for his friends, family, and teammates. He never had anything bad to say about anyone. If I talked bad about someone, he would say something equally good about him or her. He would bring me back into reality. And he never, ever broke a promise. I could go on telling stories about Anthony, but I think his memory speaks for itself in everyone's mind that knew him. He was wonderful, absolutely amazing, and I'll miss him greatly.
