Be Thou At Peace

Posted by T.J. on February 4, 2002:

At the beginning of last semester, I had the wonderful privilege of meeting Anthony. Throughout the fall and into the winter, he became a beacon of light for our company, whether it was on the football field or in the company area. Whenever he made a big play, our company flag would rise up high in the air and steadily wave back and forth. From the stands, it was our way of saying thank you to Anthony for bringing us another moment of happiness. Back in the area, it was simply his bright smile and outgoing attitude that made us feel just that better about our day.
I had the opportunity to chat with Anthony on a number of occasions. Sometimes he would ask me questions about what he needed to do but mostly we just spoke about how things were going in general. I feel fortunate to have even been able to help out this great young man. The one thing that comes to my mind whenever I think about him is the way he used to yell out "C.O.!" at the top of his lungs whenever we saw each other. It always brought a grin to my face, as it is right now just thinking about it.
I will always remember him for what he brought to our family here at West Point. He was a great cadet, an outstanding athlete, and a wonderful person. To Anthony Miller: You will never be forgotten.
