Be Thou At Peace
Posted by a classmate on February 5, 2002:
I didn't know Anthony very well, I only had one class with him first semester this year. Our class had a group of very outgoing people and sometimes personalities could get in the way of learning. Anthony had a way of making the funny comments that would appease everyone's feelings about too much homework, too little teaching, and the other gripes and complaints. He had a way of making us forget our little complaints because tempers immediately settled when we were all laughing together with him. He never hesitated to help a classmate when he understood the concept better, but he also was willing to listen to others explanations. I wish I could go back to last semester and get to know him better because I have missed the opportunity, but I am grateful for the brief way in which he impacted my outlook on life. Standing on the Apron last night for the TAPS vigil I couldn't help but wonder why such a caring, generous, good-hearted individual should be called away from our class. I can only trust that the Lord has a plan which we can not fathom, but I hope that others seek to emulate the goodness of Anthony and carry his memory with us. The Class of 2004 now has two guardian angels looking down on us, and they couldn't have been two more wonderful individuals. God bless Anthony and his family, my prayers go out to them.
