Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Steve Caley on March 26, 2002:
These are the lyrics to a song I wrote for Nick and Luke one rainy Sunday just after Paul left this world. I continue to learn from Paul's example.
To Nick and Luke; Your Dad was tough and humble, smart and humble, talented and humble, fun and humble.
Hags Song
I was running in the rain When I thought about your Dad It hurt my collarbone It was a sharp and sudden pain So I took it as a sign And it hit me- Well, it hit me like a falling acorn And I thought about your Dad
He was impervious to pain He chewed a bumblebee Put it in his lip, closed his mouth, it was history He lived with passion every day Good intentions there was no doubt Heart so big- Heart so big it made his chest stick out And I think about your Dad
And I think about doing more with my time here I think about doing all that I can And I think about being better with my time here I think about being all that I can just like your Dad
And his attitude was never compromised As he opened up the cut between his eyes He was bigger than a man of twice his size Drawing strength from his purpose I draw strength from his purpose
Now when I'm running in the rain I stick my chest out And I think about your Dad And what life is about
