I remember Andy Clements. I was one of his high school teachers. I remember that it was his great desire to go to West Point. When he didn't receive an appointment he did not let this stop him. He enlisted and excelled as a "troop." Through drive and perseverance he was admitted to the Academy and I'm sure one of his proudest days was when he he received his commision and joined the ranks of the "Long Gray Line." I remember Andy as an intelligent and witty young man. He was one of those kids that you knew was going to be successful in whatever field he chose. I last saw Andy in Heidelberg and am glad I got to meet Andy the man and see that he was reaching his potential. We lost a wonderful person in that strange accident.
