John Daniel Foldberg

West Point, 1951

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Henry C. Evans, Jr. on June 8, 2002:

Dan, besides being a first string All-American football player was a first team lacrosse defenseman on the Army NCAA National Championship lacrosse team in 1951. He had never played lacrosse until entering West Point in 1947. In the span of four years he developed into one of the top players in the country.

In addition, he was selected as the Class President, as long as he was able to serve for the Class of 1951. A natural athelete with the most pleasing personality and always willing to lend a helping hand.

He will definitely be missed by his class and family as he was an exemplary officer and class president.
