It was with great sadness that I read of the death of LT Dustin Shannon. It brought back painful memories of another chopper crash in Korea in early '72 when we lost our incoming and outgoing Battery CO's as well a pilot and some local children in another tragic crash on a foggy day. It fell to me as Battery XO to pick up the ball and run with it in the interim until a new CO was named. It was not easy, but, I'm sure, nowhere near as difficult as dealing with the loss of a son, classmate, brother. Our thoughts, sympathies and prayers go out to LT Shannon, CWO Wallenburg, their families, friends, and classmates. God Bless and keep you all.
