| I was BG Black's Aide in Vietnam when he was Asst Div Cmdr of the 25th Infantry Division. He was a caring and professional leader, but if it is possible as a General, somewhat of a free spirit as well. I found that very refreshing and uplifting in the otherwise dark and demanding combat environment we faced daily. His family was living in Thailand and BG Black made every effort to see them and maintain as much normalcy as possible. He was very good to me and I miss him. |
