Be Thou At Peace

| I will never forget the first time Monty came across my personal radar screen. He strode onto a stage and addressed the second detail of Beast Barracks as "King of Beast." I immediately knew he was something special. We ended up buying a house together in Lawton Oklahoma while at Fort Sill. What a great friend he was. I recall with fondness many talks we had, and I was his roommate as he met, dated, and fell in love with, and married Trudy. I know the pride he felt when his children were born. Monty planned to be Governor of Missouri and was well on his way when tragedy struck. I wept when I heard the news, and I still grieve for my friend and his family. God keep you, jocko. |
