Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Daniel D. Ludwig on January 4, 2003:
Although Frank was on the USMA faculty during my first year at West Point, I do not recall cognizance of him during that period. We became acquainted in 1980 when I joined him on the Engineering Fundamentals faculty at Virginia Tech. Working closely with Frank who had amassed quite a few years as an educator, I learned that he was an individual who lived and stood by admirable Christian principals. Always pleasant in demeanor, kind and considerate to others, helpful and generous, Frank was also humble. We had a common interst in wood working which always provided conversation when we met. During retirement, he and Shirleigh frequented musical and cultural events at the University. Frank took great care of his physical condition to stay healthy, and I figured that he would someday become the last living member of his graduating class. As he has now become a member of the Long Grey Line, We will miss this great friend who strongly upheld the proud traditions of West Point. Dan Ludwig, Class of '55
