Paul Joseph Haggerty
West Point, 1991
Be Thou At Peace
Posted by ditus Bolanos on March 14, 1998:
Paul Haggerty USMA '91 served two seasons as Rob Riley's #1 assistant. Paul was a three time letterwinner at West Point and led the team in scoring in 1991- his senior year. He won the Beukema award as team MVP in his senior season. Paul served in the active Army until 1993 as a platoon leader of a Patriot missile battery and in the reserves in his native state of Connecticut. He coached at Trinity College in Hartford for 2 1/2 years before his stint at West Point where he succeeded Brian Riley. Paul leaves his wife Tricia and sons Nicholas 4 and Luke 2.
Paul coached the forwards and will be sorely missed by the Army hockey family. Paul was the epitome of what one expects a West Pointer to be. He had standards of personal integrity; a love of hockey; and a keen sense of humor. Having gone through the rigors of West Point life he could relate to the players as few West Point Coaches could. A truly fine young man has been lost.
