Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Kennedy on March 16, 1998:

When speaking of Coach Haggerty I truly don't know where to begin. My first recollection of coach was when I came up to watch an Army Hockey game during his stint as a varsity stalwart. I remember coming to initially watch Phil Espisito play (because he played with my brother), but I couldn't help to notice the "little giant 24." He played like a champ, little did I know that I would admire this man so greatly in the future.
Coach helped me deal with the troubles of academic life, because god knows we both had troubles with the academic system. I remember calling him my academic coach, and often brought my EN101 papers up for him to read. He'd then send me back with very few corrections. This is just one of few memories I have of a great individual, a mentor, an idol and an inspiration. Coach you will live through all of us and your sons. God Bless Paul Haggerty!
