Hags and I were in the same Beast Squad. In our four years in I-2, Hags and I were roommates for 3 semesters. Of my roommate, I can say this: "Everyone who knew him loved him." Hags could make me smile when the weight of the world was on my shoulders. Hags carried in his wallet a remembrance card of his father who died when Hags was still young. Hags said: "He was a great man." Like Father, like son. I smile when I remember that I would see Hags frequently at morning mass when we were cadets. I smile because I know he is very glad to be with his father again. When a shooting star illuminates the evening sky, everyone stops for a moment and watches. They don't live as long as the other stars, but in their short life, they are the most brilliant light in the heavens. |
