Be Thou At Peace

Posted by William B. Wallace on June 27, 1999:

Fred was my half bother (same mother; different fathers) but we grew up as close as full brothers could be. We were three years apartin age. He went to the academy while I went to The Citadel and Ohio State University ROTC programs. We never served together but were in the same branch (Armor) and so followed each other's career closely. He was my idol and I tried to emulate him as much as I could and looked forward to his advice when he was at the Advanced Armor Officer's Course and I was with the Third Armored Division Training and later when he was ADC to Gen Bruce C. Clarke and I was with the 14th ACR and 510th Tk Bn. I miss him even today.
