Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Clay Glidewell on April 16, 2003:

Wanted to share my last 2 conversations with Jimmy. 2 months ago he stayed with my wife and I in Raleigh for 2 nights and it was a classic Jimmy outing. We watched a basketball game over some beer and he talked about how much his family and friends meant to him until the early morning. He even mentioned that if the worst happened on this deployment that he wanted his friends to know that he upheld his end of the deal. He always did. The last time we spoke was when Jimmy called a couple of days before he deployed to apologize to me for not choosing Duke because he had gotten into Harvard. Only Moose would make that call to a rotten civilian at a time when he had so much more on his plate. His idea of friendship was so real and so contagious. To Frank, Judy, and Meighan->I look forward to seeing you next Wednesday and you will always be in my prayers.
