Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Anonymous on May 19, 2003:

It has been with utter shock and an undefinable sense of loss that I have come to learn of Andy's passing nearly a year later.
To his family, please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many near and far.
Though miles and years separated us, the distances never diminished the high esteem in which I always held Andy. I was truly blessed to have known him, if for only too short a time. His optimism, strength, and fortitude in the face of every circumstance were unfailing. His commitment to family and to the Army was always so very strong and he held both in the highest of regards. I recall how greatly he was respected by those who reported to him and worked with him, and how unselfishly he gave of his time and talents to help others no matter the need.
Since I did not have the opportunity to tell him what great pride I felt in his presence, just to have known him and called him friend, I only hope that these reflections somehow bring comfort to his family and friends as they, too, remember his many wonderful qualities and know that others share in this great and tragic loss.
May the Lord bless and keep him, and make His face to shine upon him, and watch over and protect his family.
