Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Shawn on June 6, 2003:

To the family and friends,

I am sincerely sorry for your loss. I am posting this in hopes that the family will read it and hopefully benefit from it. My fiance and I were both serving Active Duty in the USN when he was killed on August 2, 1997. I have learned since then that there is help available beyond the life insurance for the surving family members. Such as VA Form 21-0519s-1 for surviving surviving spouse and children and VA Form 21-535 which provides assistance to surviving parents. These forms can be downloaded for the following website: http://www.vba.va.gov/pubs/candpforms.htm. In addition any money paid to the Montgomery GI Bill should go to the person listed as the beneficiary. I understand that during this time it is hard to focus on such things, but it could all prove helpful in the future. I am sending this message to all families who have lost a loved one who was serving Active Duty during this war and has tragically lost their life for our great country.

If you would like to contact me, please e-mail me at shawn.femia@hotmail.com

My sincerest condolences,
Shawn Christine Femia
