Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Brittany Meeks on August 10, 2003:

I will always remember Leif Nott. It would be impossible not to remember him! As the praise and worship leader for OCF, Leif helped many of us enter His courts with praise, and I have no doubt he is relishing in praising God at the very throne of God right now. Leif's enthusiasm in life spread to every one of us. He was the upper class cadet that, when I was a plebe, I knew that when I greeted him with "Praise God" that he would always respond back with the "Praise Him" loud enough for everyone else around to hear. I have numerous pictures of the funny skits he and his classmates put on during the fall of '98 White Sulfur Spring retreat--who will ever forget that version of the story of Esther! And who could ever forget the inspirational yet side stitch funny rendition of "Jesus Freak" that Leif did on the OCF retreats--jumping over fires and smiling bigger than anyone else was able too. Leif loved the Lord, and his actions showed it. I know I will never forget the energy and vibrance that he gave towards everything. Those of us who were blessed to have him influence and touch part of our lives will be forever grateful. I have no doubt that classes to come at West Point will still have those few cadets who encourage each other with "Praise God" and so Leif's enthusiastic response of "Praise Him" will forever echo within those gray walls cadets call home. Well done Leif, be thou at peace as you dwell forever in His courts of praise. My prayers go to Leif's wife and family and I pray that the same love of God that was such a part of Leif's life will embrace and comfort you during this time.
