rick--my best friend, my roomate, my brother. what can i write? you helped me fight expulsion. you saved my life when a climbing harness broke. you didn't punch me in the mouth that time i lost your car keys--even though i knew you were thinking about it... as i write this i'm deployed, like so many of the rest of us, doing the things we talked and fought and dreamed about for our five years together. the only real hardship about it is that it means i can't come say goodbye to you properly. we get back in the spring, buddy, and i'll come see you then. mr. and mrs. joyce, christy--rick was my family, and that makes you family too. thank you for letting me share your son and brother. nick sparta '02 |
