Bob and I were members of the Army Swimming Team and the Catholic Choir. Although we belonged to different Regiments, we saw each other quite often - daily swimming practice and weekly Choir practice. So we remained close friends throughout our 4 years together. I remember Bob as a deeply religious man - when he was not singing with me upstairs in the Choir loft, he was downstairs at the altar serving Mass with Monsignor Moore or Father McCormick. We parted ways after Graduation Day and I never saw him again. But I shall always remember him with respect and affection - a big guy with a big heart and a big smile.
