West Point, 2002

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by 2002 Mother on November 4, 2003:

Heavenly Father: I ask for soothing words to say as I type this. Please fill my mind with Comforting, strengthening and loving words for me to use.

Please be with those who need you now. Please help us all to accept Todd's death, and find strength in the knowledge that you have taken him into your arms and you are holding him, just as you are holding those who love him.

Help the class of 2002 to remember him with a smile and laughter, and know that he will be with them in spirit wherever they go and whatever they do. May they always lift a glass in his memory when they are together. May Todd's memory lend strength to his classmates as they follow him to war. May he be there to take their hand if they fall.

Sympathy goes to my fellow Americans who have lost a fine soldier. He died for their freedom, as they blindly went through their day. May they take time to notice, to care, and to pay tribute to all of our soldiers, especially those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

We, the mothers of these soldiers, know that our children are going into harms way. Please give us strength to hold up our fellow mothers when their child is taken. Please give special strength to Todd's mother, and help her understand how we ache for her.

I can only offer my deepest condolences and promise that our soldiers are never far from my thoughts and are always in my prayers.

To Jen and the entire Bryant family:

--May The Lord bless you and keep you;
--May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
--May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.
