Dear Larry and family, I have received word of your son?s death serving his country in a time of war. I will not pretend to know how you must feel at this time. Losing a son or daughter is something I cannot comprehend. I want to thank you for raising honorable kids that know their duty and are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice. Looking at my eleven-year-old daughter and thinking about the world she will inherit, I can?t help but give thanks to God for Todd. I realize that he gave his life for my daughter and her future. I can?t express in words the gratitude I have for Todd and men like him. I know your grief is great at this time and I pray that God will be your strength and your light. Scripture that has helped me is II Corinthians 1: 3 ? 4: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
