Todd Jason Bryant

West Point, 2002

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Col (Ret) Charlie Clatterbaugh, USAFA '73, and Sharon Fowkes on November 10, 2003:

I've known Todd from the time he was an infant. Even though I wasn't around him that much, I was always kept aware of his ambitions, achievements, and challenges though his parents and siblings.

There was never a prouder moment that when Sharon and I were invited to attend Todd's graduation from West Point. It was the only time I've attended another service academy graduation, and the first time Sharon ever experienced such a major military event. Certainly the highlight of our visit was the opporunity to stand next to such a fine young man, meet his fiancee Jen, and have our picture taken together. The pride Todd exhibited that day in his country, in his service, and in his call to arms was overwhelming. It was very clear to both of us that Todd was a special soldier... and someone we were very privileged to know.

Sharon and I will miss Todd deeply, not because of the short, but special times we spent together, but because of the times ahead that we were so looking forward to.... time to share that special comradery and esprit de corps that only comes with selfless service to ones nation.

We know that Todd is in a better place now, and that God and all of his angels are looking over him and protecting his loved ones. We pray that in this time of sorrow that they may all be strong and that they will forever be blessed by knowing Todd, sharing in his rich life, and loving him.
