Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Ron Dietel, LCUSD & USAFA '74 on November 12, 2003:

To the family and friends of Lt. Todd Bryant:

As residents of La Ca?ada Flintridge, my family and I were deeply saddened to hear of Todd?s death in Iraq. Yesterday at Veteran?s Day services at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, my children and I recalled the ultimate sacrifice that Todd and thousands of others have made in order to ensure our nation?s freedom, a freedom which we too often take for granted. As a member of the La Ca?ada Governing Board, we will honor Todd?s memory with a moment of silence at our next board meeting and as you may already know, La Ca?ada High School similarly honored his memory this past week. Many teachers and students who knew Todd are grieving from the loss of one of our own. As a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, I believe that I share a loss somewhat unique to all military academy graduates, while although we attended different schools, we had very similar experiences and thus share a very common bond.

We will keep Todd, his family and friends in our prayers. God bless Todd, each of you, and our nation. His sacrifice and those of all other men and women who have given their lives in defense of American freedom must never be forgotten.
