At present, a lot of American soldiers are serving in the Philippines, fighting the war against terror. They train the Filipino soldiers and engage in civic action in the boondocks like building roads and providing medical services in the isolated villages. We appreciate their presence and say, "Thank you, G.I. Joe!" Some of the American soldiers, including West Pointers, have also made the ultimate sacrifice in my country these last few years. We Filipinos also share the pain of their loved ones. I am sure the Iraqi people feel the same way we do. To Captain Ben Smith, I give you a final salute. Well done. Be thou at peace!
