Frank Reese Forrest
Born July 25, 1925 - Died December 11, 1967
Frank Reese Forrest was born in Stratford, Oklahoma on 25 July 1925 and was appointed to West Point from his Congressional District.
His West Point classmates recall: "An old Air Corps man, 'Daddy Frank' quickly displayed a good pipe collection, and unlimited knowledge of the fairer sex, and an unusually fine gift of gab. After a four year total war with the Academic Department, Frank solemnly buried his slide rule with full military honors and a deep belief in the efficacy of prayer. His easygoing nature will make life pleasant wherever he goes."
During his cadet days Frank was with the Camera Club all four years; was Athletic Representative cow and first class years; and was a Cadet Lieutenant his first class year.
Upon graduation, Frank went in the Air Force and after flying training reported to Carswell AFB in 1952 and then to Kimpo AFB in Korea where he served from 1953 to 1954. In 1958, Frank was assigned to the 38th Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron. Frank resigned his Captain's commission in 1965 and died on 11 December 1967.
