Charles Lynn Galloway
Born November 27, 1927 - Died August 26, 1953
Charles Lynn Galloway was born in Bristol, Tennessee on 27 November 1927 and was appointed to West Point on a Senatorial appointment.
His West Point classmates recall: "From the land of moonshine and Roy Acuff came this solid block of football terror. Lynn's ferocity on the field belies his good nature and uncontrollable laugh. After being turned back plebe year, Lynn kept one jump ahead of he Academic Department. His ambition is not limited - it covers the entire opposite sex. Here is one to watch for, he'll go a long way and have an good time in the process."
During his cadet days Lynn played Varsity Football all four years and earned a Major 'A' in that sport, he went out for Boxing and Lacrosse plebe year and was a Cadet Sergeant his first class year.
Upon graduation Lynn went in the Air Force and after flying training reported to the Far Eastern Air Force and served in Japan flying F?86's.
Lynn died in an aircraft accident in Japan on 26 August 1953. He was a First Lieutenant at the time.
Mrs. Lynn A. Galloway (Loretta) makes her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
